The Mohawk Valley Chorus (MVC) is getting ready to start its new season! Three of MVC's performing groups - the Mohawk Valley Chorus, the MVC Kids Chorus, and the Mohawk Valley Chamber Ensemble - are welcoming new members.

The first rehearsal for the Mohawk Valley Chorus (adult choir) is Monday, September 12th, at the Horace J. Inman Senior Center, 53 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by rehearsal at its regular time of 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday evenings. No auditions are required. Interested singers are welcome to attend the first two rehearsals without making a commitment to join.

Annual dues for the adult choir are $60 and should be paid by the close of the second rehearsal. The chorus, under the direction of David M. Rossi, with accompanist Alyssa Rizzo will rehearse for its annual Christmas concert series (December 3rd and 4th). In 2023, there will be a classics concert in mid-March, and the season will conclude with the pops concert series in May. For more information, send an email to or call 518-573-7799 (leave message).

The MVC Kids Chorus is looking for young singers ages 6 and up. Amanda Grab is the director; Stephanie Podolec is group manager. MVC Kids provides children with opportunities for musical learning, performing and making new friends. No auditions are necessary. Rehearsals start September 26th and are held Monday afternoons from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the United Presbyterian Church in Amsterdam. The MVC Kids will perform at the annual Christmas concert series December 3rd-December 4th. Interested parents/guardians should contact director Amanda Grab or manager Stephanie Podolec via

The Mohawk Valley Chamber Ensembles or MVCE will be kicking off its 7th Season this fall featuring small instrumental ensembles like quartets, trios, duets, and larger ensembles depending on instrumentation. All woodwind, brass and percussion instruments are welcome and needed! The season will kick-off on Tuesday, September 27th, at 6:30 - 7:30pm at United Presbyterian Church, 25 Market St., Amsterdam.

After the pause due to COVID, we are ready to get back in action! Our goal this fall is to continue the Harmony Bridge Mission to share our music with people who cannot attend concerts, so we will bring the concert to them! We welcome school age musicians from the middle school level to high school, along with adult musicians, to contact MVCE director Stephanie Podolec via
